The Federation of Rural Women's Associations (FADEMUR) has presented a pilot project that aims to highlight the social and environmental contributions of family farms and businesses, thereby reducing the inequality gap that exists in rural areas.
To make these contributions visible, FADEMUR will develop a label Visually appealing, easy to understand, and offering information on the environmental and social benefits of the product in question. Finca La Floración, led by Pilar Hortúa, is one of the first 30 rural producers to receive this label. Thus, both the farm's fresh and jammed peaches and the products from Huerta Metro O will carry this label.
Small rural producers and their products are often overshadowed by large brands, whose ability to compete on price and volume is significantly greater. However, products originating from small entrepreneurs and family farms in rural areas offer unique added value, not only in terms of quality and flavor but also in their social, environmental, and population-restoration contributions to the region.
We're still working. We'll be waiting for you at Finca La Floración! Contact us.
