Finca La Floración recognized as a finalist for the FiturNext 2025 Awards for food sustainability in tourism 

The agrotourism project The Flowering Estate was awarded as one of the Nine finalist initiatives of the Challenge FiturNext 2025, focused on how tourism can contribute to sustainable food management. This recognition highlights the commitment to sustainability and the promotion of local gastronomy. Advisory Boardr who has chosen the nine finalists among more than 400 initiatives from around the world are top-level international tourism experts. Finca la Floración was only surpassed by projects that were winners at the Too Good To Go App level, the Sustainable Gastronomic Routes of the Junta de Extremadura and the Norwegian cruise company Hurtigruten Cruises.

FiturNext, the FITUR Observatory dedicated to promoting good tourism practices in terms of sustainability, has positively valued the project of the agrotourism farm located in Cieza (Murcia) for its Focus on the recovery of traditional peach varieties from Cieza (Murcia) and the creation of tourist experiences that connect visitors with local production, such as stargazing or guided bicycle routes along the Chicharra Green Route.

The farm has a Cieza Peach Interpretation Centre where workshops and tastings are offered that allow participants to learn about the production process and enjoy the authentic flavours of Cieza and its region.

Among the actions carried out by Finca La Floración is the Use of peaches with external defects or small size but with the same quality in homemade jam for sale. Also the Creation of handicrafts with flowers and pruning remains to turn them into earrings, necklaces and souvenirs and the launch of a Metro 0 Orchard grown using sustainable practices for consumption by visitors to the farm.

The Director of the Estate, Pilar Hortua, was in charge of collecting the award at the Madrid International Tourism Fair, while Antonio Santos, co-founder of the Finca, participated in a round table on natural and cultural heritage as a driver of food sustainability along with two other finalist projects.

Open House Day

This recognition encourages the two entrepreneurs of the farm to continue working on the valorisation of sustainable agriculture and the dissemination of the cultural and gastronomic wealth of Cieza. 

To publicize the project and the upcoming initiatives of Finca La Floración, the Next Saturday, February 1st An Open Day has been organised so that nature lovers, hikers, cyclists and sustainable tourism enthusiasts can learn about the project they are developing, its facilities, its craft shop and its location just 240 metres from the Chicharra Greenway as an ideal stop on an excursion through its surroundings.

The activity will take place between 10 am and 1 pm. Those who come will be able to visit the Cieza Peach Interpretation Centre and discover the secrets of this gastronomic delight, as well as taste the Finca's artisanal peach jam and its original crafts shop.

The visit to the Interpretation Centre with jam tasting has a symbolic price of only 5 euros, with which you will receive as a gift one of the Finca's artisanal peach jams or a handmade souvenir.
