We are pleased to announce that The Flowering Estate has been selected as one of the nine finalist initiatives of the Challenge FiturNext 2025, focused on how tourism can contribute to sustainable food management. This recognition highlights our commitment to sustainability and the promotion of local gastronomy. Advisory Board who have chosen us are top-level international tourism experts.
FiturNext, the FITUR Observatory dedicated to promoting good tourism practices in terms of sustainability, has positively valued our project for its focus on the recovery of traditional varieties of peaches from Cieza (Murcia) and the creation of tourist experiences that connect visitors with local production. Through activities in our Interpretation Centre, we offer workshops and tastings that allow participants to learn about the production process and enjoy the authentic flavours of Cieza and its region.
Among the actions carried out by Finca La Floración is the use of peaches with some external defect or small size but with the same quality in homemade jam for sale. Also the creation of manual crafts with flowers and pruning remains to turn them into earrings, necklaces and souvenirs and the launch of a Metro 0 Orchard grown with sustainable practices for consumption by visitors to the Farm.
This recognition encourages us to continue working on promoting sustainable agriculture and on spreading the cultural and gastronomic wealth of our land. We thank FiturNext for this distinction and all our collaborators and visitors for their constant support.
The award ceremony will take place at the next edition of Fitur 2025, where we will also participate in a round table with other finalist projects from around the world.
